Bio

Daniel Dymien was born on 21st July, 1990 in Setúbal, Portugal. He has one sister who's six years younger than him and one cousin who's one year younger than him, from his mother's side. Daniel grew up in Setúbal were he studied until he was 12 years old. After that, he transferred to another city, Montijo, due to his parents' works, where he eventually graduated. In 2008 he went to university to study Tourism at Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração, in Lisbon. He's currently studying in the University of Salford, in the United Kingdom due to the Erasmus programme.

Daniel first started writing at the age of 14, writing mostly Harry Potter fanfiction. It was during this time that he met Sofia, Elyon and Nereids, three of his best friends and writers, too. Around 15 years old he found out about FanFiction.Net, where he published mostly works about animes. Finally, when he turned 16 years old, he finally discovered FictionPress.Com and started working on his original stories.

For the first time, he felt a little bit cold feet towards his writing, since writing original stories it's not as easy as writing fanfiction. His first piece of original work was The Last Tear, which won a Portuguese award on a writing competition for teenagers. After that he published Detective Blood and The Case of Charity Jones (which, unfortunately, is in Portuguese). It was his first ever original character and the one he's most proud of.

Ever since then, he has been caught up on life, basically. He has a problem with sticking with things until the end, which affects his writing a lot. Last year he decided to take a shot at writing and went back to his roots: fanfiction and Harry Potter.

This year, hopefully, it will be his turning point and he'll stick with writing until the end. Wish him luck - he sure needs it!
